How should I remove stubborn or dried spills?

Use a damp, soft cloth with warm water and soap. If needed, apply common, non-abrasive, household cleaners such as Soft Scrub Liquid Gel with Bleach, or Comet Soft Cleanser Cream directly on a damp cloth or sponge and wipe the surface, rinsing thoroughly after cleaning. To avoid dulling the surface's shine, make sure to use a non-abrasive cleaner, and rinse off any cleaner with water. To remove adhered material such as food, gum, or nail polish, first scrape away the excess material with a plastic putty knife and then clean the surface with a damp cloth to remove any marks left behind and any residual dirt.

Should granite be sealed?

Probably it is the most popular question nowadays in the stone industry. The necessity of sealing depends upon the type of granite installed. Some are water resistant and don’t require regular sealing, others are porous and harder in maintenance. Usually, it is more than enough to seal granite every 6 months, you will be on the safe side for sure. Notice that marble and granite slabs are different in service. Proper care leads to long and beautiful exploitation.

How do I know if my granite needs to be sealed?

Not sure if your granite countertop needs to be sealed? There is an easy test! Pour few water drops on the top. If the water is still there on the counter in 30 minutes, less sealing is necessary. But if it absorbed in few moments, check your kitchen countertop for being porous, it probably needs to be sealed.

Will a sealer protect the surface of my granite countertop?

Granite itself is approximately 95-98% stain resistant, but there is a special impregnator applied on all of the natural stone products. There are two main kinds of sealers that are stain protecting: topical and impregnator. First, protect the surface top of the stone, they need to be removed before applying a new coat. Second ones protect below the surface stone from staining and it is not necessary to remove them.

Will my seams show?

The visibility of seams will depend on the granularity, color and pattern. Seams are professionally done where the two pieces of stone are put together. The seams by are joined with the color that matches the stone. Then the joined area is smoothened, leaving only a very thin line visible.

Can granite be scratched?

There is no material that could be 100 percent protected from scratches. So both marble and granite can get scratched because they are natural stones. They are durable and scratch resistant, but we won’t promise them being scratch proof. Please be accurate and take care of the countertop: please always use cutting board, knives could harm the top surface.
