Most countertop companies in Orlando sell you stone and hand the actual work to somebody else. We are the shop. EdStone cuts, edges, polishes, and installs every countertop out of our own facility on Hoffner Avenue, and has since 2006.
That matters more than it sounds. When one company owns the whole job, there is nobody to blame if a seam is off or a measurement is wrong, and there is nobody adding a margin in the middle. Over 16,000 projects later, it is still how we work.
What a fabricator does that a retailer does not
A retailer takes your order and brokers it out. A fabricator does the physical work. Here is what that covers:
- Digital templating. We laser-measure the cabinets as they were actually installed, not as they were drawn.
- Slab layout. We decide where the veining falls, so a dramatic pattern lands on the island instead of behind the toaster.
- Cutting and edging. Your edge profile, cut and polished in our shop.
- Cutouts. Sink, cooktop, and faucet openings, sized to the fixtures you actually bought.
- Seam placement. Put in the least visible spot the layout allows, then joined tight.
- Installation. Set, leveled, and sealed by our own crew.
Why in-house fabrication is worth caring about
One company, start to finish. No handoff between the seller and the installer, which is where most countertop complaints come from.
Faster. We are not waiting in another shop’s queue. Most jobs go template to installed in 5 to 7 days.
You pick the actual slab. Not a sample chip. Walk the yard, tag your slab, and that is the one we cut.
Fixes are simple. If something needs attention after install, the people who made it come back.
What we fabricate
Kitchen countertops and islands, bathroom vanity tops, bar and coffee tops, outdoor and summer kitchens, fireplace surrounds, and window sills. Materials are mostly quartz and granite, plus quartzite and marble.

How the job runs
- Free estimate. Send dimensions or we come measure. You get a real number, itemized.
- Pick your slab. Walk the yard on Hoffner Avenue and tag the one you want.
- Digital template. We measure the real cabinets once they are in.
- Fabrication. Cut, edged, and polished in our Orlando shop.
- Installation. Usually one day, cutouts and seams included, old tops hauled away.
Most projects run 5 to 7 days from template to installed.

What does a countertop fabricator actually do?
A fabricator is the shop that turns a raw slab into your countertop. We template the cabinets, cut the slab to those measurements, shape and polish the edge, cut the sink and cooktop openings, then install it. A retailer sells you stone and hands the work to somebody else. We do all of it ourselves.
Do you install what you fabricate?
Yes. The same crew that cuts your stone sets it in your kitchen. Nothing is handed off to a subcontractor, so if something needs adjusting there is one company to call.
How fast can you fabricate and install?
Most kitchens run 5 to 7 days from template to installed. We will tell you upfront if your job is different, usually because of an unusual layout or a slab we need to bring in.
Can I see the slab before you cut it?
Please do. We keep over 1,000 slabs at the Hoffner Avenue yard. You can walk the yard and tag the exact slab going into your home. No appointment needed.
Do you fabricate stone I bought somewhere else?
Often yes. Bring us the slab details and we will tell you honestly whether we can work with it and what it will cost.
Do you do repairs and small jobs?
Yes. Seam repairs, chips, a single vanity top, a bar top. Not every job is a full kitchen and we are happy to quote the small ones.
